# OP\_NUMEQUALVERIFY

<figure><img src="/files/ovR1vr3pnmXhYQvbeM1Z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**OP\_NUMEQUALVERIFY** only allows the script to continue processing if the top two data items on the stack have identical integer values. If the data items are not numerically equal, the opcode causes the script to terminate and fail. This is useful when values are being calculated which may finish with uncertain bytevector lengths.

| **Word**           | **Hex** | **Input** | **Output**     | **Description**                                                                                  |
| ------------------ | ------- | --------- | -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| OP\_NUMEQUALVERIFY | 0x9d    | a b       | Nothing / fail | Returns true if numbers are equal, otherwise fails. More efficient than OP\_NUMEQUAL OP\_VERIFY. |

**Example:**

```
OP_4 OP_SPLIT OP_DROP OP_1 OP_NUMEQUALVERIFY
# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:
```
GET https://hub.bsvblockchain.org/higher-learning/bsv-academy/bsv-opcodes/op_nop-op_ver/op_numequalverify.md?ask=<question>
```
The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
