# Reflection Question

Based on your organization's regulatory deadlines, customer demands, competitive position, and assessment score, where would you position yourself on the competitive timeline: **Early Adopter / Fast Follower / Laggard)?**

What specific factors support that positioning?

**Note to Learners:** Strong answers identify **quantifiable factors**:

**Early Adopter:** Regulatory deadline within 12-18 months, customers requiring transparency in contracts, assessment scores 25-40, executive sponsorship available

**Fast Follower:** Deadline 18-36 months away, moderate scores (15-24), competitors announced but not at production, goal is parity not leadership

**Laggard:** Minimal pressure, low scores (<15), competitors not moving, other priorities, "watch and learn" rational given context

**Key insight:** No universally "correct" position—depends on your situation. The mistake is being Laggard when circumstances demand Early Adopter action.
