Executive Summary
Crowdfunding Platform is a full-stack BSV application that enables users to create and fund campaigns using BSV micropayments, with automatic token distribution to investors upon campaign completion. This demo showcases production-ready BSV patterns including the 402 Payment Protocol (BRC-103/104), BRC-29 key derivation, and individual token claiming workflows, providing a comprehensive reference implementation for payment-enabled blockchain applications.
Problem Statement
Traditional crowdfunding platforms face issues with high transaction fees, centralized control, lack of transparency, and delayed reward distribution. Campaign creators and investors need a trustless system where contributions are verifiable on-chain, rewards are automatically distributed, and micropayments are economically viable without prohibitive fees.
How It Works
Users connect their BSV Desktop Wallet to the platform using WalletClient integration
Campaign creators set funding goals, with all progress tracked in real-time
Investors contribute using the 402 Payment Protocol with BRC-29 key derivation for secure payment addressing
The backend uses payment middleware to verify and internalize transactions automatically
When the campaign goal is reached, each investor can individually claim their PushDrop token
Campaign state is persisted to JSON files, ensuring data survives server restarts
The platform demonstrates both frontend (WalletClient) and backend (Wallet Toolbox) wallet management
Key Benefits
Low Transaction Costs: BSV's micropayment capability enables small contributions without prohibitive fees
Transparent Tracking: All investments are recorded on-chain with verifiable transaction history
Automatic Token Distribution: Individual token claiming pattern distributes costs across investors
Production-Ready Patterns: Demonstrates real-world BSV implementation with proper state management
Secure Payment Flow: BRC-103/104 payment protocol with BRC-29 key derivation ensures secure transactions
Flexible Architecture: Supports both frontend and backend wallet implementations
Target Users
Blockchain developers learning BSV payment integration patterns
Organizations building crowdfunding or micropayment applications
Educational institutions teaching blockchain application development
Startups exploring BSV for payment-enabled products
Developers seeking reference implementations of BRC standards
Use Cases
Crowdfunding Campaigns: Fund projects, products, or services with transparent on-chain contributions
Token-Gated Content: Distribute access tokens to supporters when campaigns succeed
Community Funding: Enable communities to collectively fund shared initiatives
Educational Workshops: Teach BSV payment protocols and wallet integration
Proof of Concepts: Reference implementation for payment middleware and token distribution
Current Impact
The Crowdfunding Platform demonstrates how to build production-ready BSV payment applications with proper state management, payment protocol implementation, and token distribution. It provides a comprehensive learning resource for developers implementing real-world BSV patterns, showcasing the 402 Payment Protocol, BRC-29 key derivation, frontend and backend wallet integration, and individual token claiming workflows.
